part one of delivery story...As I pulled up to the Walmart I had an idea of what I was headed in for. The surprise Baby Shower at work allowed for my coworkers and agents to provide us with most of what we needed. Between the countless package deliveries and cash-app as well as cash donations, Tyrie was set. I left work that day, dropped the boys off to my mom and told my husband I would be home after I picked the baby up some receiving blankets and bottles. I wanted glass bottles and had been to three stores for this brand until I found them online at this Walmart. Typically when I arrive kid free at a Walmart I jump out with a little pep in my step with full anticipation of browsing each aisle slowly price comparing while listening to Trap Music or Gospel.. which ever mood I was in (don’t judge me). Today... was different.

Dear single mama,
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to take offense or think it’s not okay to accept help. It really does take a village. Dear single mama, If their father wants to play a role in their child’s life, try your best to remember to always think of your child FIRST and let them! You have fathers out here that don’t even want to drive to a stop sign to see their child. Don’t abuse what power you THINK you have. Dear single mama, What is meant for you will be for you. Just because you may not have it all together and have had to make sacrifices for you and yours doesn’t mean there won’t be a bigger picture for you. There is always a bigger picture! Dear single mama, Yea, we are superwomen but superwoman needed rest too. Superwoman needed balance. Superwoman needed love. Remember that always. Dear single mama, Self preservation, if you are not good to yourself you can’t be good to anybody else. I know it’s hard for us as mothers to think about ourselves first, this is something that most of us struggle with. Don’t make anyone make you feel bad for needing a break, for needing your “me time” that is well deserved. Dear single mama, YOU GOT THIS! Sincerely, One single mother to another.. Janisa Camille |
